How MyVitalCalc handles your data — and why we collect so little of it

Last updated: June 5, 2026

Short version: MyVitalCalc does not collect, store, or transmit any personal health information you enter into our calculators. All calculations run entirely in your browser. The only data stored beyond your session is the optional blood pressure log, which stays on your own device and is never sent anywhere.

1. Information We Collect

MyVitalCalc is a static website. We do not operate servers that receive or store form submissions, and we do not have user accounts or databases of visitor information. We do not process, infer, or store any medical or health records about users.

The only information that may be automatically collected when you visit our website is standard web server log data collected by our hosting provider, which may include your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is used for security and performance monitoring and is not linked to your identity or to any health information you enter into our calculators.

2. Your Health Data

We never receive, store, or transmit any health data you enter into MyVitalCalc's calculators. All calculations — BMI, calorie needs, body fat percentage, blood pressure categorization, and all others — occur entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. This data is never sent to any server.

When you close or navigate away from a calculator page, any values you entered are discarded. They exist only in your browser's working memory for the duration of your session on that page.

The one limited exception is described in Section 3 below (the blood pressure reading log), which stores data on your own device only.

3. Local Storage (Blood Pressure Log)

The blood pressure reference page offers an optional feature that lets you log individual blood pressure readings to track trends over time. If you use this feature, your readings are stored in your browser's localStorage — a feature of your own browser, on your own device — using the key vitalcalc_bp_log.

This data:

This feature is entirely optional. You can use the blood pressure reference tool without ever using the log feature.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

MyVitalCalc itself does not set any first-party cookies. However, third-party services we use — primarily Google AdSense — may set cookies in your browser for advertising and analytics purposes. These cookies are governed by the privacy policies of those third parties, not by this policy.

We do not create user profiles or perform automated decision-making based on personal health data. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when new cookies are set. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of advertising displayed on this site, but will not affect the functionality of our calculators.

5. Google AdSense and Advertising

MyVitalCalc uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on MyVitalCalc. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and/or other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendor uses of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com (EU).

For more information about how Google uses data when you use our site, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

MyVitalCalc's calculator results and reference data are not influenced by advertising relationships. We do not sell sponsored placements within calculator results or reference tables.

7. Third-Party Services

MyVitalCalc loads the following third-party resources, each governed by their own privacy policies:

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you certain rights with respect to your personal information. Because MyVitalCalc does not collect personal information from visitors in the traditional sense (we have no accounts, no health data collection, and no user databases), most CCPA provisions do not apply in the typical way.

MyVitalCalc does not sell personal information in the traditional sense. However, advertising partners such as Google AdSense may use cookies that could be considered "sharing" of personal information under California law (CPRA). You may opt out of such processing by using the opt-out mechanisms described in Section 5 above, or by using a browser extension that signals the Global Privacy Control (GPC).

Because MyVitalCalc does not collect personal health data, most CCPA rights are satisfied by simply clearing your browser's cookies and local storage.

9. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent local laws, including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and portability of personal data, as well as the right to object to processing.

Our legal basis for processing advertising-related data is consent (where required) and legitimate interest in providing and maintaining a free service supported by advertising. You may withdraw consent for personalized advertising at any time using the methods described in Section 5.

Because we do not collect health data or personally identifiable information directly, most data subject requests can be fulfilled simply by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage.

10. Children's Privacy

MyVitalCalc provides a BMI-for-age calculator intended for use by parents and guardians to look up reference information about their child's growth. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. No data entered into the child BMI calculator (or any other calculator) is transmitted to our servers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of MyVitalCalc after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

We will respond to privacy-related inquiries within 30 days. Because MyVitalCalc does not collect personal health information, most requests can be addressed simply by clearing your browser's cookies and local storage.
